The annual Christ the King Spaghetti dinner to benefit Faith Pharmacy will be held at Christ the King Cathedral on September 22nd at 6:00 pm. The Kentucky Alliance of Pharmacy Students (KAPS) at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy plays a large part in volunteering and provides students to work every Saturday. Each year the College students hold an annual Spaghetti dinner, in which all proceeds go toward funding Faith Pharmacy. A silent auction will also be held during the spaghetti dinner. Tickets are $13 for adults, $9 for students and $7 for children (ages 12 and under). A table for 8 may also be reserved for $110, which will include a bottle of wine.
Faith Pharmacy is a faith-based charitable project established by Christ the King Cathedral & Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church in response to clear evidence that thousands of people in Central Kentucky cannot afford the medications their doctors have prescribed. Faith Pharmacy is located inside Mission Lexington at 230 South Martin Luther King Blvd. Due to this merger, our patient population can access a pharmacy, dental clinic, and medical clinic in a single building. The pharmacy provides prescription medications without charge to indigent patients referred by physicians, health clinics, and social service agencies Each Saturday morning patients are waiting at Faith Pharmacy where volunteer pharmacists and pharmacy students fill prescriptions and counsel the patients. Attempts are also made to enroll these individuals in Patient Assistant Programs for further help with their prescription medications. Church members, social workers, and local physicians also volunteer their time to this humanitarian effort.
Please contact Graham Klink at firstname.lastname@example.org or 502–939-3087 This event and funding for Faith Pharmacy would not be possible without the help and support of the community. Come on September 22nd for an evening of fun and hospitality to help sustain our efforts.
