Organizational Capacity Assessment and Community Engagement

VISTA Project – Position Description, Program Year 2017-2018

NAMI Lexington is seeking an individual to provide full-time technical assistance to the Executive Director and the Development Committee to perform an Organizational Capacity Assessment.  The assessment includes:

  • Governance and legal structure; Financial management and internal control systems

  • Administration and procurement systems; Human resources systems

  • Program management; Project performance management

  • Organizational management and sustainability

The completed assessment will provide guidance for developing a blueprint for implementing Organizational Capacity Building activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison to committee, maintain meeting minutes and distribute action items to members

  • Assign deadlines, provide reminders, track member activities

  • Maintain project timeline, arrange meetings and appointments

  • Accurately enter data and compile progress reports

  • Establish and maintain internal communications resource (i.e. closed Facebook group)

  • Other duties as explained in accompanying Vista Assignment Duties (VAD)

Qualifications

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education and prior experience

  • Bachelors level degree or equivalent work / volunteer experience

  • High level verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload

  • Initiative to undertake or continue a task or activity without another’s prodding or supervision

  • Limited physical demands associated with sitting at a desk and utilizing basic office equipment for long periods of time.
